Surviving the Holidays

Beginning Thursday, Oct 27

7:45 PM

Room 100

Cultural norms suggest we spend holidays with family. We are bombarded with Christmas decorations beginning in September,

if not earlier. We go through the fall months which hold Labor Day, Halloween, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving, Advent,

and Christmas, and then New Year’s. Does the idea of all this “family time” cause you to shudder?

Do you look forward to the holiday season(s) or does the idea cause you stress and anxiety?

The holidays have been romanticized by our media. You don’t have to dread the upcoming events.

You can be intentional about doing what is best for you this year.

Join us as we talk about Setting Boundaries During the Holidays/How to Survive the Holidays

on Thursday nights for four weeks beginning October 27 at 7:45 PM following Recovery worship.

NEW OPEN SHARE GROUPS on Thursdays

EATING DISORDER RECOVERY FOR WOMEN

Weekly Open Share Group

Join Any Week!

Recovery at Cokesbury is excited to announce a new group for those struggling with anorexia, binge eating, and bulimia.

This will be a safe place to be heard and find comfort, acceptance, courage and wisdom as others share their experiences

of strength and hope on their recovery journey from disordered eating.  We will be a community where discussions are

private, secure, and understood.  We follow Recovery guidelines from beginning to end.  It is our hope this group will help

each individual move forward in a positive direction and help separate myth from reality.  Eating Disorders are widely misunderstood

and commonly misdiagnosed.  At times eating disorders are callously written off as acts of willful self-destruction, stubbornness, or

vanity.  However, those who suffer through this disease, as well as their loved ones, know they are all-consuming and often deadly

conditions that cause substantial mental anguish and physical harm.

If you are struggling with the impact of an eating disorder, we invite you to join us Thursday evenings at 7:45, after the recovery service.

No Registration Required.
